Who Should do this Course?

This course is a requirement for anyone conducting dogging work/operations within Australia as specified by Safe Work Australia. This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform dogging work.

Course Content

The course consists of theory & practical training, followed by an assessment day which consists of both written & practical components.


This unit provides individuals with vital skills for safely executing dogging work, a crucial aspect across diverse industries. Dogging involves mastering slinging techniques to move loads, encompassing the meticulous selection and inspection of lifting equipment.


Construction Induction Requirement: It is imperative for anyone engaged in construction work to complete the general construction induction training program, as outlined in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work.


The successful attainment of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry fulfills this mandatory requirement, setting the foundation for a safe working environment.


Licensing Process: While successful completion of this unit indicates competence, it does not automatically grant a license. Licensing is achieved through a thorough assessment of competence in alignment with the relevant Commonwealth, state, or territory work health and safety (WHS) regulations. This stringent process ensures that individuals possess the necessary expertise to adhere to industry standards, promoting a secure work environment.

Course Requirements

Appropriate clothing and covered shoes or boots, food and drinks. This course is covered in a face to face learning environment. There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

Course Fees

All enrolments are considered tentative until payment has been received. Full course fee must be paid within 48 hours of enrolment.

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment of CPCCLDG3001.

Occupational Titles may include: Hoist Operator, Dogging & Rigging Operator.
