This course is a requirement for entry level work in open cut coal, metalliferous mines or quarries within Australia as specified by Safe Work Australia.  This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as entry-level operators in open cut coal or metalliferous mines or quarries.

The course consists of theory & practical training, followed by an assessment day which consists of both written & practical components.

Course Fees

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment of RII20220.

Occupational Titles may include: Plant Service & Maintenance Operator, Open Cut Coal Miner, Excavator Operator.
